1/30/15

Good Morning Racers,
USE a surrogate to judge. I use lisa she shows up the most when I race.
check the delta mine was 3 seconds. Not my best. Had nothing to do with handicap or pace setter.
Check your standard deviation. Take your times, throw out anyway off numbers & DNF. do an SD calc.
The lower the more consistent higher show not trying hard at first or thinking/trying new things.
Lisa gets to .10   New folks 1.5  .
VISUALIZE – The PROS do in every sport. Think about your weak areas. Visualize the correct response.
Train on them skipping what you do well.
Protein bar/carbo 1/2 hr before each race – here is proof in the pudding!!!!

ZARDOZIANS,
We win by just showing up.
Never judge your day by a few results. Look at the overall trend.
 Nastar.com results and attachment yellow = zardozrttroegs12515_TeamPhotosm

 pacesetter last Feb….  11.2 vs.18.87
I am sure it affected the HC and medal. We  know what lance gets, same for evan.
Use a baseline. Example I was 3 sec behind lisa. so I was not at my best.
The turnout was awesome, but Lancaster is tough to beat.
Just look at the nameplates on the CUP.
The NASTAR points matter to Corporate ZARDOZ.
We try and make top 100 in USA. Which is top 4%.
they will calculate tonight.
I appreciate your time, effort and money.
It was great to see all of you.
Good Job!

The Butt has it.  Counter rotation. In the gorilla turn the steps are 1-edge outside 2- rotate back outside hip 3-bow to outside.
never could perfect the counter.  As I look at great racers I see the BUTT move to the gate, this does the same as outside hip rotate back.
I practiced the BUTT move and found it easier to command then the outside hip back.
THINK about it. BUTT towards and a bit down into gate.  ah ha moment.

NASTAR Changes Nastar changes online

  • RFID scanners. There are 20 NASTAR resorts that will improve the efficiency of their race venue by adding the new NASTAR Radio Frequency Identification system.
  • NASTAR RF cards are used to quickly load participants into the timing software so that they can get on course faster.
  • The NASTAR RF scanners are compatible with most RF lift ticket systems so the RF scan used for lift access can also be used to identify NASTAR racers.
  • The Race of Champions scoring system has been added as an option to the NASTAR software allowing resorts to offer the same type of “finals” competition that is used at NASTAR Regional & National Championship events.
  • A New Handicap Chart has been developed for NASTAR Slalom.
  • Participants will now be placed in a slalom division that is independent of their GS division.
  • NASTAR Slalom rankings (National, State, Resort & Overall)
  • Pacesetter handicaps appear online in each pacesetter’s record
  • New option for scoring Race Series. Now resorts can select the number of races that will count towards the final series score (e.g. An eight race series can now count only the six best races).
  • Host resorts can now use a combined time to score race leagues and race series
  • Added handicap cutoff list to participants records so that racers can see the handicap needed to move up to the next division.
  • Two new divisions for disabled snowboarders: Above the knee and below the knee amputee.
  • Added a division for snowboarders with a cognitive disability.
  • Added snow bikes as a new division.
  • Facebook option that allows users to share their results and rankings.
  • Resort Teams will now be scored using 20 team members (was 15)
