Weather, Illness, or other reasons beyond control.  Please check the owner of the event.

 Participants:  Participants cannot just show up. Each match is filled ahead of time by the MATCH holder/ Director.  

1-Drive slow on access roads 10 MPH.

2-All ranges are COLD. NO AMMO IN GUN MAG, IN GUN OR IN CHAMBER. Yellow CHAMBER FLAGS are Required.

3-Keep Firearms cased, bagged, until going to the SAFETY Table to place the unloaded firearm in Holster, Rack carrier, etc.

Every Range has a set of rules and may be different. You are privileged to shoot so know each ranges rules. Be SMART. NOT DEAD!

On October 14th and 15th, York will be hosting our first Falling Steel Match. The match will be a half day format, and consist of 6 stages of 25-35 falling steel targets each. There are 9 gun categories, as well as team options, and you can shoot more than one-time slot with the same or different guns.

What is Thurmont 3 Gun?

3 Gun is an increasingly popular action shooting competition making use of rifle, pistol, and shotgun skills. A 3 Gun match at Thurmont will typically consist of 5 stages, and will require the use of multiple firearms per stage. Shooters can expect to go through 100 rounds of rifle ammo, 50 rounds of pistol, and 50 rounds of shotgun (birdshot). Distances range from 5 yards-300 yards, and targets will consist of cardboard (full- and reduced-size), steel, and clays. Movement will be required, occasionally up to 50 yards.

Schedule:

Setup will be held the afternoon before, March 8th at 2 pm. Setup crew shoots for free, and gets advance notice of stage design. Match fee for everyone else is $25.
Expect roughly 100 rds rifle, 50 shotgun (lead birdshot only), and 50 pistol. But bring a bunch extra.

We will be using a new set of rules this year, attached to this email. Please read them here. For scoring we will be using “FN scoring” (6.1.1) and Time Plus Points (6.2.1). If anything changes, I will update you.

Advance registration is required for all 3 Gun matches. No walk-on registrations are allowed without prior-approval by the Match Director. Registration begins 1-3 weeks before the match and continues until the match begins.

Matches will be listed on Practiscore.com. Search for the date of the match in the match listings. You will receive an email confirming that your are registered and then asking you to squad.  If you register and then find you cannot attend the match, please advise by  withdrawing using the practiscore management link so that your slot may be given to another shooter.

New Shooters

-We welcome new shooters, but require that they be proficient in handling their rifle, pistol, and shotgun. For this reason we will only accept people who have shot in an action competition (i.e. USPSA, IDPA, 3Gun, SASS, etc), or have military/law enforcement training, before shooting 3 Gun at TCSC. You will be required to sign a waiver before shooting a match at TCSC. Interested shooters may email 3GunatTCSC@gmail.com for more info.
