{"id":406,"date":"2014-08-05T22:36:52","date_gmt":"2014-08-06T02:36:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/skidome.org\/firearm2\/?page_id=406"},"modified":"2015-04-28T15:14:20","modified_gmt":"2015-04-28T19:14:20","slug":"projects-2005-2006","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/skidome.org\/firearm2\/projects\/projects-2005-2006\/","title":{"rendered":"Projects 2005-2006"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Krylon Fusion Paint &#8211; Paint plastic stock on Mossberg Pump<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Glock Recoil Spring Tool<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Glock Trigger Job and tuning<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>SKS Trigger Job and tuning<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16pt; color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0<strong>ALWAYS BE CERTAIN THAT YOUR FIREARM IS UNLOADED BEFORE WORKING ON OR CLEANING IT.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><strong>Immediately after installing any\u00a0 spring, in any type of firearm that imparts power to a hammer(s), striker(s) or firing pin(s), as the case may be, with the firearm UNLOADED and without any trigger contact, actuate the firearm several times in a vigorous manner to make certain that the hammer(s), striker(s) or firing pin(s) are securely retained in the cocked position prior to let-off. Also, actuate the safety to determine that it is working properly. If during these tests, the hammer(s), striker(s), or firing pin(s) should fail or be released without trigger contact, or the safety does not work properly, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOAD OR FIRE THE FIREARM until corrective repairs are made. If any doubts ever exist concerning the safe operation of your firearm(s), consult your local Gunsmith. The above procedure also applies where recoil, bolt or action springs have been installed as well as with any spring replacement.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Always wear high-quality safety eyeglasses when installing or fitting any springs, to prevent eye injury. High-quality safety eyeglasses should be used when shooting any firearm. DO NOT use ammunition exceeding standard factory pressure levels.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The use of any after market product in your firearm may limit or void the manufactures warranty.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WARNING<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; Failure to follow this procedure may result in\u00a0an accidental discharge, firearm damage and serious bodily injury. Always be certain that your firearm is functioning properly before use.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>WARNING<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Please urge caution when using reduced power hammer or striker springs in firearms, particularly in firearms used for critical applications such as law enforcement. Reduction of the hammer or striker spring may compromise the reliability of the firearm.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>\u00a0<strong><em>Glock Recoil Spring Tool<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>I had a really hard time installing my new spring and stainless steel guide rod installed. I came up with the following tool: Your guide rod may not have the pre-tapped hole this tool will need to work or you may need a different size threaded rod. Spring is ISIMI and T.H.E. SS Rod.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Parts &amp; Procedures:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>one six inch piece of #8 x 32 threaded rod.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>one six inch piece of cable shrink wrap.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>one #8 x 32 cabinet knob.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Tighten cabinet knob on one end of \u00a0the threaded rod. Install Shrink wrap, heat.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Usage:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>place recoil spring onto guide rod.\u00a0 Take tool above place it through the guide rod hole in the slide. Attach tool threading the recoil spring on the tool until you can screw into the guide rod. Replaced the hammer spring, (stock 37, Wolffe 27 lbs), and the magazine release \/ sear spring. (Red Circle)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; polished (green) any rubbing surfaces, especially sear, and any moving parts.
