A noise, a grind a, squeak like a door hinge without oil. This video has the sound and the test to discover a bad tie rod end and a bad lower ball joint. Both parts under 35$ but the Ball joint is pressed into the steering knuckle and that is where labor cost comes in unless you do it yourself.
I will replace the lower ball joint, the Upper control arm which has bushings and upper ball joint. The parts Moog run 85$ with shipping. vid and info soon.
Chris Fix has a nice video on a complete rebuild of a Honda Del Sol which is similar. the Honda design vs the Kia is 2x as many bushings and parts and parts run 10 to 15% more.
